DTF Printing FAQ
DTF stands for Direct-To-Film. We print your full-color artwork onto a film, apply an adhesive powder, cure it, then heat-press the transfer onto your garment. It produces bright, detailed prints without the screens that traditional screen printing requires, which is why it works so well for small and full-color orders.
Our DTF minimum is just 6 pieces. You still skip the setup costs that come with screen printing, which makes it the go-to choice for samples and small custom runs where ordering two dozen pieces does not make sense.
It depends on your order. DTF is usually the better value for small runs and full-color or photo designs, since there are no screens to set up and no upcharge for extra colors. Screen printing tends to win on large bulk runs with a limited number of ink colors, where the per-shirt cost drops as quantity climbs. DTF bonds to a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and cotton-poly blends, as well as performance and stretch materials used in athletic wear. That flexibility is one of its biggest strengths, since it prints cleanly on garments where some other methods can struggle.
When it is pressed and cured properly, a DTF print is soft to the touch and holds up well to regular washing, giving you long lasting prints. To get the most life out of it, we recommend washing inside out in cold water and avoiding high heat in the dryer, the same care that keeps any quality print looking its best.
Yes. Our shop is at 1510 N Main St in Meridian, minutes from I-84, so local pickup is easy from anywhere in the Treasure Valley. We can also arrange delivery or shipping if that works better for you.
